Tom MacIntosh, Jim Wahl and Ryan Palmer attended the 48th Annual International Franchise Association Annual Convention. The convention was February 9-12, 2008 in Orlando, FL. Tom MacIntosh spoke on "Financial Freefall: How to Play it When Your Franchisee is Going Bankrupt" and Jim Wahl presented on "Best Practices in Protecting and Enforcing Trademarks, Copyrights and Other IP Interests". Krass Monroe was a sponsor of the convention Business Solution Roundtables. Tom, Jim and Ryan all all members of the Franchise, Distribution and Intellectual Property firm practice group. |

A firm shareholder and member of the firm Wealth Preservation practice group, Scott has been named a FIVE STAR: Best in Client Satisfaction Wealth Manager for 2008 by MplsSt.Paul and Twin Cities Business Monthly magazines. | For the 18th consecutive year, Dennis Monroe was a presenter at the Restaurant Finance and Development Conference, October 28-30 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dennis participated in the presentation “Restaurant Finance 101 for the Non-Financial Conference Participant” and was the moderator for an operator panel discussing “Franchisees: Capital Structures, Debt Levels, Rent vs. Own, Franchise Relations, Second Concepts and More.” Also representing the firm at the conference were John Berg, David Hill, Randy Evans, Scott Husaby, Tom MacIntosh, Shanna Strowbridge and Jim Wahl. Krass Monroe was also an event sponsor of the conference. . |

Congratulations to John Berg, Jim Casserly, John "Jack" Harper III, Rod Krass, Tom MacIntosh and Dennis Monroe who have been selected as Minnesota Super Lawyers for 2007. John "Jack" Harper was named as one of the Top 40 Business Litigation Attorneys and Rod Krass was named as one of the Top 40 Employment Litigation Attorneys. This year the conference was at the Marriott Hotel, Mall of America, in Minneapolis on May 14-16. Mary joins the firm with over twenty years experience in operations, human resources management, organization development, training and marketing. She is responsible for firm operations and works closely with the Executive Committee in the implementation of strategic planning initiatives and in overseeing the administrative functions of the firm. |

| The 17th Annual Restaurant Finance and Development Conference was held November 13-15, 2006 at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. Dennis Monroe, Chair of the firm, moderated the Success Breakfast panel discussion on Wednesday, November 15th. Also attending the conference from the firm were Randy Evans, Tom MacIntosh, John Berg, Scott Husaby, Andy Hall and David Hill. The conference is the top financial and development conference in the country for restaurant company owners and executives. |

| Gay Cerney, an attorney in our Public Finance practice group, was a speaker at the Minnesota Chapter of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials (MN NAHRO) 8 state region conference on May 8, 2006. She participated in two sessions, “Economic Development Tools: Overview” and “Economic Development Tools: Case Studies”. The sessions gave a general overview and supplemental case studies of the tools from different states within the region that help jurisdictions meet their housing and redevelopment needs. |
